Apple Coffee Roll

It has been pouring since Friday but we love the rain (although it would be quite nice if it were to snow in Southern California like in Father of the Bride). We love seeing the rain drops from our window although we are a little concerned that our pool is close to overflowing. The forecast predicts 3 more days of downpour. While bread is more troublesome since it requires 1-2 hours of dough rising time, the weather provided the perfect atmosphere to experience with a new type of bread since it's too wet to enjoy the outdoors. Other than braving the weather to do a tiny grocery run for our Christmas party, we stayed home bundled in blankets (and the Snuggie - gift from husband's white elephant exchange at work). With a few apples in the fridge, this roll has a similar taste to an apple pie but the chewy consistency of a soft warm dinner roll. It also reminded us of braiding hair. Hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed baking it.
